True Rebels Obey God: Acts 4:11-19, 5:22-29

Summary of Sermon

The term rebels are often seen negatively. But we will see that many of the apostles were men who rebelled against the legal and even spiritual leaders of the time because they chose to obey God instead. We have an attack on the truth today and for the most part truth tellers have become the rebels of our time, even in churches. Here are some of the areas that call us out to be rebels for the truth:

God only made 2 genders/sexes – male and female, there are no others.

Marriage is only supposed to be between a man and a woman, Jesus spoke to this, no other options.

We are not to submit to the government if they tell us to disobey God.

We must not be silent about Jesus—the men in our texts today were ordered by the leaders to stop talking about Jesus; they refused and you and I are saved today because they refused to shut up. Rebelling may cost us money, jobs, family, friends and even our lives. But we must always obey God. True rebels obey God.
