The Mind is a Dangerous Thing - Isaiah 55: 6-9
Summary of Sermon
God tells us here that ‘His thoughts are not our thoughts’. Our minds are corrupt and sinful and if we listen to them without the truth of the Word of God to help, we can be led astray and think evil things. We are told that the ‘heart of man is desperately wicked’, Jer 17:9. Our whole outlook on the world is tainted by our sinful minds. Thus, we need the truth of God’s word to tame our mind and to get it into the right way of thinking, Romans 12:1-2.
Satan wants you to think that God hates you, is against you, and that He is indifferent to your circumstances and situations, but He is not. God is our friend, our loving Father, our Abba, the one who saves us and holds us, the one who carries us when we cannot carry ourselves. But these truths are found in the Scriptures. This is why Satan makes it hard for us to read the Bible, in it we can find peace, strength and the truth to counter his lies. The Mind is a Dangerous Thing UNLESS you have the truth of the Bible to tame it.
