Lifelong Gratitude - Psalms 103:1-10
Summary of Sermon
One of the most important parts of life is our attitude. I am blessed beyond all I can ask or think. In this Psalm, David reminds us that God does not treat us as we deserve. Were He to do so, we would have no hope. God forgives our sins, forgets our sins and remembers that we are just a weak people; made from dust. God instead, gives us His wonderful benefits. He provides us with more than we need most of the time and as such we should live a life of gratitude and be constantly thanking Him. Even when hard times come, even in them we should and can find ways to be thankful.
We are reminded that God in His mercifulness is SLOW to anger. Even when He does get angry, it is but for a short time. God is not angry with us, we, in Jesus are His loved ones, His children according to 1 John 3:1. We can also be grateful that one day, God will come to execute true justice. The wrongs will be made right and those who defy His grace and mercy will sadly be dealt with. In the meantime, look for ways to be thankful, to express gratitude to the Lord and to bless the Lord with our lives.
